Food Access Network Initiative

Food Hubs, an Online Market, and Deliveries

Our online market, PantrySoft, provides multilingual support for food ordering, pickup, and delivery, including prepared meals. PantrySoft allows for 24/7 ordering from a live inventory for food insecure residents across the Champlain Valley. Orders are then packed in our food hubs, located in Colchester, Middlebury, and Sheldon, which serve as sites for aggregating large quantities of fresh, frozen and non-perishable foods. When the order is ready, staff and volunteers deliver to homes or intermediate sites (such as classrooms, childcare centers, shelters or medical clinics). This system enables community members with physical disabilities, those without reliable transportation, and those who work during regular business hours, to access nourishing food consistently.

Food Lockers

Through our partnership with Mountain Community Health, Feeding Champlain Valley is piloting modular, temperature-regulated smart lockers to expand food access in the Bristol area. When a community member places an order through our online market, they will receive a notification via email or text with a unique code, which they can scan at the lockers for easy and anonymous pickup.

Mobile Pantries

Our mobile pantries operate as pop-up food pantries on wheels, providing nonperishable items to transitional housing sites, permanent supported housing sites, and low income housing communities.
