Feeding Champlain Valley focuses on 3 priorities:
Increasing Food Access:
Food Access Network Initiative
Feeding Champlain Valley uses an online ordering and delivery system with partner organizations to meet food insecure Vermonters where they are at.
Groceries & Meal Production
Feeding Champlain Valley offers weekly groceries, prepared meals, and household items. Meals are delivered daily to pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens.
Cultivating Opportunity:
Culinary Job Training
Community Kitchen Academy is a partnership between Feeding Champlain Valley and the Vermont Foodbank, which offers open-enrolment culinary job training for unemployed and underemployed Vermonters.
Outreach & Referrals
Our trained staff help connect people with critical programs like 3SquaresVT, WIC, and other vital resources that help contribute to the food security and economic stability of low income households. Staff are advocates for community members and help them navigate the complex application processes for assistance programs.
Strengthening Community
Building Strong Bonds
We build and strengthen community through partnerships that innovate and expand our programs and services.
We purchase from local farms and businesses, rescue and re-purpose food that would otherwise be wasted, and use environmentally friendly practices such as composting, recycling, and electric delivery vehicles.
